ORDINATION - ELDER STEVEN FRANKLIN MILNER

On February 25, 2007 the Elders and Deacons at Oak Grove Primitive Baptist Church, Sylacauga, Alabama, assembled into a presbytery to ordain Licentiate Bro. Steven Franklin Milner to the office of Elder.

Elder Jonathan Blakeley questioned Deacon Daniel Dean, Church spokesman, about qualification of Brother Milner. All answers were positive.

Elder Steve Stathelson questioned Brother Milner, using Articles of Faith of the Lower Wetumpka Association. All answers were affirmative.

Elder Frank Wood prayed the orordination prayer and the presbytery laid hands on Brother Milner.

Elder Sam Bryant began the charge. Using I Timothy 4:16, "Take heed unto thyself, and unto the doctrine; continue in them: for in doing this thou shalt both save thyself, and them that hear thee," Elder Bryant admonished Brother Milner to take heed unto himself, that he be able to bring forth the good things in God's kingdom and for the feeding and welfare of the household of faith.

Elder Bryant charged Bro. Milner to work for peace, as a peace-maker, in the house of God, indicating that he must be long-suffering with much patience. He also charged Bro. Milner to study in order to prepare himself to feed the flock, to take heed to himself and to the Gospel for there is only one Gospel.

Elder Bufrey Dean continued the charge of Brother Milner, using John 15:5, "I am the vine, ye are the branches: He that abideth in me, and I in him, the same bringeth forth much fruit: for without me ye can do nothing." Elder Dean admonished Bro. Milner to remember that without God, Bro. Milner can do nothing.

Elder Dean read Micah 6:8, "He hath shewed thee, O man, what is good; and what doth the LORD require of thee, but to do jutly, and to love mercy, and to walk humbly with thy God?" He then told Brother Milner that we are to feed the lambs and to feed the sheep. We are to be fruitful. He then told Brother Milner to "Prove your love of the household of faith by your words and actions."?"

The Presbytery and Oak Grove Church approved the proceedings and Elder Steven Franklin Milner was returned to Oak Grove Church as an ordained Minister. The Presbytery, followed by the remainder of the congregation, extended to Elder and Sister Milner the right hand of Fellowship.

The Presbytery was composed of twelve Elders and twenty Deacons.

Elder Louis Culver, Clerk
