ADMONITIONS
Elder Louis Culver
We often find fault one with another,
When we should treat each as friend or brother.
We grumble and gripe - often criticize;
Make others feel sad - don't apologize.
We frown and complain, we fuss and we whine;
We should be cheery - spread rays of sunshine.
We bicker, banter and make a big noise
And thereby we show our lack of self-poise.
Why can't we just smile and show that we care
And be friendly with people ev'rywhere;
Be understanding and more thoughtful, too,
In all that we think, we say, or we do?
Instead of the prick, why not give the balm;
Replace turbulence with a peaceful calm?
Sow peace and kindness and create friendshipts -
We won't be weighted by a load of chips.
If we smile as we go along life's way,
If we are careful what we do or say,
We shall have an abundant, happy life -
A life with less sorrow, heartache and strife.

This poem was written March 3, 1969, and I believe it carries as much meaning today as it did then. Truth never changes. These statements are truths concerning life and the way we should live it.
In His Book, God has given us excellent instructions concerning our association with each other. Do we obey His instructions as He laid them out before us? If so, fine, but if not, we ought to be.
