THE PRETTY LITTLE VIOLETS SEEM TO PRAISE GOD
Elder David Bridgman (deceased) From his book...
Down in the meadow, beside the brook,
Grows the prettiest violets-just take a look!
How pretty, how bright, how colorful and how gay,
Surely I could sit and gaze at them all through the day.
As far as I can see, some here, and some there,
Yes, they seem to be scattered everywhere.
When I then view these little violets so fair,
I am made to wonder just why they are there.
What brings such beauty to man's eyes?
We know they did not just drop down from the skies.
Surely they are God's gift prompted by His wonderful love;
These are some of the blessings that come from above.
We notice how the violets seem to praise God so,
It makes us more about God want to know.
We see all other creatures of God's hand
Are placed beneath the works of mortal man.
Seeing the little violets praise Him as they do,
Certainly makes me want to praise Him too.
